Wendy Krislen-Adams: I’m Wendy Krislen-Adams, and I teach accounting and business statistics here at Linn-Benton.

JS: I teach accounting and business.

IP: Subjects like global business relations, principles of management, intro to business.

MG: Human resource management, business law, and business ethics.

MH: I especially enjoy teaching accounting.

AF: Economics, accounting, business process management, operations.

PH: I teach economics here. So, why would you be interested in studying business or economics or accounting here at LBCC?

WKA: The faculty in the Business Management department, besides their academic preparation, have a lot of work experience in their discipline.

IP: Our subjects here cover working in organizations generally, and not just businesses.

PH: There’s a high job placement rate with these degrees.

IP: Business is very, very wide-ranging. Quite often, business principles and practices—things like management and leadership—are very relevant in both a private sector business as well as a public sector government organization.

PH: In fact, in today’s job market, degrees in accounting, economics, and business are highly regarded and highly desired.

IP: Our Associate of Science aims to send students to Oregon State University at a junior level.

WKA: And we’ve had a very long and solid relationship with the College of Business at OSU. We have a seamless transition; our students meet with a College of Business adviser here at the Linn-Benton campus. And they can major in accounting, finance, management marketing, business information systems. There’s also an entrepreneurship program. And there’s an international business option for majors within the College of Business.

PH: Students may also be interested in transferring to other state schools. We have an AAOT degree.

WKA: And we can tailor-make that program so that you are taking the appropriate pre-business courses to go to University of Oregon or Portland State or your college of choice. So we do a really great job of getting you ready for a college or school of business.

IP: So I hope that on hearing this you might come and talk to us in the business faculty. And hopefully we can talk about whether business is right for you.
